Policy and Procedures

The Executive referral group is a proactive membership referral group whose objectives are to provide a weekly networking program to generate new business through referrals from fellow members.

The Executive Referral Group is administered by an Advisory Board of its members.  Membership consists of business members representing non-competing business and organizations within a group.

1. To be eligible for membership in The Executive Referral Group, a member must:

a.    Not represent competitive services of any other member of the Executive Referral Group
b.    Be in a position to provide referral group members with legitimate, pre-qualified referrals.

2.    Applicants may visit the referral group 4 times before being considered a member

3.    Any member may object to an applicant based on competitive services

4.    The Advisory Board may deny membership to an applicant based on membership eligibility requirements

5.    Termination is at the discretion of the Advisory Board

6.    Members are expected to do presentations about their businesses to help other members learn more about them, their companies/organizations, and possible ways to provide referrals

7.    One of the members of the Advisory Board will record minutes.

8.    The Program Presentation Chair is responsible for arranging the weekly presentations and organizing other activities as directed by the Advisory Board

9.    Members, other than Advisory Board, will rotate the responsibilities of time keeping and keeping attendance

10.Ideas and suggestions are encouraged and should be verbalized and/or submitted in writing to the Advisory Board for consideration.  If appropriate, the Board will present them to the membership for input, discussion, and votes

11. Membership shall now be considered “open” or “closed”.  Those who have been members in ERG for the past 6 months will be grandfathered in to a “closed position”.  However, if a member has 2 or more absences in an 8 week period they will be contacted by a Board member. (Exceptions to this are pre-existing, continuous commitments which benefit “the Group”).  After 3 unexcused absences, the position will convert to an “open” position.

12.  In addition, the Advisory Board will consist of 5 Members; the Chair, Co-Chair, Program Presentation Chair, and two others.  The positions shall last a term of 6 months.  Their duties will be to ensure the quality, integrity, and commitment of the group.  They will help plan and organize Referral Group activities. In the event of illness or emergency, they will be able to step forward to lead the group at a moment’s notice.
