The Executive Referral Group is a proactive business exclusive referral group with the objective of providing a weekly networking program to generate new business through referrals from fellow members and the community, and to educate its members to help improve their businesses.
 
The ERG is administered by an Advisory Board elected from its membership. Elections are held annually in June The group consists of business members representing non-competing businesses.
Each member may represent only one type of business or service.
 
Membership:
To be eligible for membership in the ERG, a member must:
  • Commit to a $10.00 monthly fee for membership.
  • Not represent the same business or service of any other member of ERG unless approved by the board and group
  • Be in a position to provide group members with legitimate referrals
  • New Applicants must visit the referral group 3 times in one month before being considered for membership. At the monthly board meeting, the third Thursday of each month, the board will review the applicants paperwork and approve their membership if all requirements are met. The new members will then be notified and they can then partake of the benefits of our members. Their paperwork to join will include a copy of any licenses and insurances that are required for that type of business. They will be given the paper work after their third visit and the following week of the third monthly visit they must turn in the paperwork.  
  • Members must attend weekly meetings each month and only one excused absence during the month. To qualify for an excused absence, you must notify the board member in charge of attendance a day in advance .Three unexcused absences will terminate the membership and open that business category for a new member.
                                                                                                      
Membership Responsibilities/Functions:
 
  • Membership will be considered “open” or “closed”. If a member has three unexcused absences in a three month period, they will be contacted by a Board member. Unless the board finds there was an acceptable reason for the unexcused absences, the position will convert to an “open” position.
  • Any member may object to an applicant based on competitive services.
  • Ideas and suggestions are encouraged and should be verbalized and/or submitted in writing to the Advisory Board for consideration.
                                                                                                        
  • Each member may only represent one type of service or business. Each member may only have one business card in the Business Card book that is passed around weekly. It is up to each member to see that their business cards are in the book.
  • Members are invited and encouraged to participate and be listed on the group’s website for a nominal annual fee. It will be the member’s responsibility to update and maintain the information on the website once they have been added to the site.
 
  • Members are invited and encouraged to list their service or business in the group’s printed directory for a nominal fee .It will be the member’s responsibility to meet the deadlines set by the Board for submission of their information and to check the accuracy of the information.
  • The ERG will meet once per week on Wednesdays at 8:30am. Please plan on being on time for meetings as one hour is planned for each meeting and a late start will extend the meeting. The Board and membership reserve the right to modify the schedule as needed including to change one meeting a month to a night social meeting.
  • In the event a night function is planned in place of a morning meeting, an absence at the night function will not count against the member on attendance requirements.
  • A collection will be held each week at the meetings. Contribution is not mandatory. All funds collected will be deposited in the ERG bank account.   Funds will be used for promotion of ERG and its’ members. Any proposed purchases or donations on behalf of the group will be approved by a majority vote by the membership.  
  • Members are encouraged to sign up with the board to present educational presentations about their area of expertise. 
 
Advisory Board:
  • The Advisory Board will consist of 6 members: Chairperson, Co-Chair, and 4 others. 
  • Any member of the ERG can be nominated for a position on the advisory board.
 
  • The positions shall last a term of one year beginning in June of each year. If an opening of the board comes up during the year, the board will approach members about filling the position and the membership will approve the new board replacement.
  • Members of the Advisory board will be responsible for keeping items such as Attendance, Minutes, and one will act as Treasurer, and any other duty decided by the board. These duties will be assigned during the first Board meeting of the board within a week after the election, date to be decided.
  • Elected board members must agree to a monthly meeting to plan for the upcoming month’s activities.
 
Advisory Board Responsibilities:
 
  • The Board will ensure the quality, integrity, and commitment of the group. They will help plan and organize the Referral Group activities.
  • The Advisory Board may deny membership to an applicant based on membership eligibility requirements.
 
  • Termination of membership is at the discretion of the Advisory Board and members will be notified in writing about their termination. If a member decides not to continue attending, they should notify the chairman and the group will be notified at the next meeting.
  • The advisory Board is responsible for organizing and arranging the weekly activities. The Board will make every attempt to provide membership with a monthly calendar of events at the beginning of each month either thru the website or emails.
  • The Board will update the membership on any financial income and expenses.
  • Any moneys collected will be deposited into an account in the ERG’s name.   There will be a minimum of 2 signatures on the account.
  • Any expenditure will be discussed by the membership either during a meeting or by email unless the expenditure is for something the group already decided to purchase or is for an administrative expense of under $25.00.
  • If appropriate, the board will present any ideas or suggestions brought up by the membership for input, discussion and votes.
  • The Board will invite Speakers to attend the meetings to present information beneficial to the growth of its members business
